Life Support Training Institute (LSTI) is an affiliate of Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service of Michigan Inc. Started in 1986, Life Support Training Institute is a CAAHEP accredited program and approved by Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Bureau of Emergency Preparedness, EMS, and Systems of Care. LSTI is also a Community Training Center (CTC) approved by the American Heart Association.

What is the most recent annual wage for EMS personnel?

Based on the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual wage for EMT’s and paramedics was $35,400 in May 2019.

How do I register for a NREMT exam?

You must visit their website at www.NREMT.org. Once on the site you will need to register for your exam online. For more information please call them at 614-888-4484

How do I apply for EMT school?

Please call LSTI and ask to speak to the Academic Advisor for personal guidance through the process.

What is the job outlook for EMS personnel?

Is there more than one type of CPR training?

Yes. LSTI offers American Heart Association training courses in CPR / AED as well as Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support courses for Healthcare Providers. Please refer to our American Heart Association Classes page for more information.

How do I get a job after school?

As a graduate of a Life Support Training Institute EMS education course, you have the opportunity to benefit with a 100% job placement opportunity with Superior Ambulance Service.

Does LSTI offer financial aid?

Currently LSTI offers convenient and affordable payment plans to help with student tuition. Unfortunately we do not currently accept Federal financial aid (FAFSA).

How can I become an Instructor?

Before you can enroll in an instructor course in the State of Michigan, you must have a valid license and a minimum of three years of experience in the field.

Our History

Life Support Training Institute was established in 1986 to meet the growing need for well-trained emergency medical service professionals. In 1992, LSTI was named a Community Training Center for the American Heart Association.

Today, LSTI offers classes for professionals including EMS training and certifications, AHA programs, community classes for adults and special community awareness programs.
